Appalachian Environmental Services (AES) is a woman owned environmental contractor that specializes in stream and wetland restoration, as well as, stormwater BMPs.  AES is based in Western North Carolina, with satellite offices in Eastern North Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia and Richmond, Virginia. AES has successfully restored over 100,000 linear feet of stream and over 15 acres of wetlands throughout the Southeastern United States.  AES has conducted design-build and bid-build projects for the private and public sectors.  We currently have 3 Project Managers, 2 Construction Managers/Expediters, 3 Site Superintendents and 8 employees that have between 15 to 35 years experience operating heavy machinery.  Our personnel has experience with the construction of wetland BMPs, lakes, dams, bridges, stream, rivers and other heavy civil construction elements.
The quality of our services is dependent on our employees. Appalachian Environmental Services employs its own project superintendents, operators and foremen to execute your project design on time, on budget and without incident. Using our own work forces, we can provide clients with turnkey project services or supplement their work forces as needed.  
AES is owned by Rebecca A. Henson, President, Mickey B. Henson, Vice President.  The AES management team has over 60 collective years experience in the construction and environmental industries.
