Due to wave action on Lake Toxaway the shoreline of Island Pointe was heavily eroded behind the existing buck head.  To correct the problem, we designed a shoreline protection and drainage solution.  The restoration was designed with two goals in mind: protect the shoreline from erosion and improve the drainage of water from waves.  The eroded shore was backfilled and graded to improve drainage.  A permanent geotextile matting was used to protect the shoreline.  Finally, a drainage system was installed to improve the drainage of the shoreline during storms.  The installation details of the permanent geotextile matting may be viewed using the Autodesk® Express Viewer.  With Autodesk® Express Viewer, a small, free, downloadable application, you can view and print the project plan sheets.
