Blackberry Farm is one of America's most celebrated intimate luxury hotels beckons discerning guests who aspire to escape modern-day frenzy and slip into a Blackberry state of mind. Situated on a pastoral 4,200-acre estate in the Great Smoky Mountains, Blackberry Farm will show you the many reasons why the 2004 Zagat Survey rated the property as the #1 Small Hotel in America.

Blackberry Farm became an Orvis endorsed fishing lodge in 2001 and was named the 2003 & 2004 Orvis-Endorsed Lodge of the Year; the first lodge east of the Mississippi to ever receive the award and the first to ever receive it back to back.  Blackberry Farm is home to what may be the best one mile of trout water in the state of Tennessee. Through proper management and better regulations, Hesse Creek harbors rainbow and brown trout ranging from eight inches to eight pounds.  When Blackberry Farm decided to improve the habitat for trout, they contacted us.  We approached their project holistically.  Our hydrologists, ecologists, wetland scientists and biologists examined every aspect of the stream from the watershed size, habitat features, recurrence intervals of channel maintaining storms to its sediment bedload transport.

Our habitat enhancement and restoration techniques have made a great trout stream a fabulous trout stream!
